Aldeburgh is a much loved coastal town and has quality shops and eateries while Dunwich is a very quaint village with a variety of eateries, long stretch of pebble beach and fascinating history. Southwold and Walberswick are well known for their sandy beaches and visitor attractions and Orford is also worth a visit with its quay and castle.

Aldeburgh

(35 mins) Very popular small seaside town with a wealth of independent shops and restaurants.

 

Dunwich

(45 mins) Historic seaside village with monastery ruins. Famous for city lost to the sea in medieval times. Good places to eat including at the beach.

Orford

(30 mins) Pretty village on the Heritage Coast with a Quay, 12th century castle, museum, craft and antiques shops, good places to eat and Orford Ness

Southwold

(45 mins) Charming seaside town including award winning pier, pretty beach huts, cliff top cannon, lighthouse and sandy beach.

Thorpeness

(35 mins) Pretty mock Tudor seaside village with the extraordinary ‘House in the Clouds’. Good pubs, ice-creams by the Meare and boat hire.

Walberswick

(40 mins) A delightful seaside village surrounded by protected marsh and heathland with long sandy beach and good places to eat.
